ZEW Mannheim, in cooperation with the University of Mannheim and the MaCCI Association, are organizing the 53rd Annual Conference of EARIE.
The conference will take place from Wednesday August 26 to Friday August 28, 2026.
The EARIE Annual Conference provides a yearly platform for academics and practitioners to present and discuss the latest research in Industrial Economics. The conference attracts more than 400 participants each year from Europe and other parts of the world. EARIE 2026 will take place at the University of Mannheim located in Mannheim city center.
MANNHEIM
Mannheim, located in southwest Germany at the confluence of the Rhine and Neckar rivers, is a lively and forward-looking city with a distinctive character. Often referred to as the “City of Squares” for its grid-like street layout, Mannheim combines a rich historical heritage with a strong tradition in research, industry, and culture. At the city’s center stands the Baroque Palace—one of the largest in Europe and home to the University of Mannheim—whose main campus will provide a unique setting for the EARIE conference.
Mannheim has long been a place of innovation: Karl Drais and Carl Benz made their pioneering contributions to the bicycle and the automobile here. For a lighter note of local flavor, Mannheim is also the birthplace of spaghetti ice cream, invented by Dario Fontanella.
Mannheim is very well connected and easy to reach: Frankfurt International Airport is just a 30-minute train ride away, and high-speed rail links connect Mannheim directly to major cities such as Paris, Strasbourg, Munich, and Zurich.
